Hajia1 is a premier Ghanaian restaurant in Lewisham, London, offering authentic West African cuisine. Located at 304 Lewisham High Street, opposite the old fire station, the restaurant provides a welcoming atmosphere where guests can enjoy traditional dishes made with fresh ingredients.


The menu features favorites like Jollof Rice with Chicken, Waakye, Hausa Kooko, Tuo Zaafi, Banku with Tilapia all crafted to deliver an authentic taste of Ghana. In addition to dine-in services, Hajia1 offers delivery and takeaway options, making their flavorful dishes easily accessible.


Hajia1 is open Monday to Thursday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Saturday from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Whether you’re craving a comforting Ghanaian meal or exploring new flavors, Hajia1 offers a true taste of West Africa in the heart of Lewisham.

  • After several years of searching for an authentic Ghanaian restaurant in the Lewisham Borough, I believe HAJIA 1 is the place to feel at home. Customer service was amazing and welcoming. Portions filling with a wide variety of other Ghanaian dishes to add.

    In a haste to get home to eat, I forgot one of my orders but the waitress managed to catch up with me in time before my bus arrival (Thank you Sakena) . Such is not common in many restaurants. We spoke of allergens, which she was able to comment on. I am thankful and can say I enjoyed the waakye with beef stew. Looking for dive into the banku and tilapia.
